November is American Diabetes Month, when the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) launches a series of programs to increase awareness of the disease, including information on meal planning. What’s a diabetic diet? It’s a common question with a simple answer: There is no one diabetic diet. Rather, it’s a way of eating that emphasizes smart choices and a balance of nutrients in order to minimize diabetes symptoms and reduce the risk of omplications, such as heart disease and stroke.
