Pizza With Pizzazz

Enjoying a hot slice isn’t the only fun to be had on pizza night. As anyone who’s ever kneaded a bit of dough will tell you, stretching dough is fun, as is shredding and sprinkling cheese. And pizza making gives new meaning to the phrase “culinary arts” when you pick toppings you like and arrange them creatively — a pepperoni happy face, a checkerboard pattern of broccoli and cauliflower florets, a circle of roasted mushrooms or olives, a sunburst of red and yellow peppers.

Pizza from your local pizza joint is a popular and economical meal, but making pizza at home is a special event. It’s also a good way to introduce kids to cooking, or provide an entertaining focal point for a casual evening with friends.
