Tofu, broccoli, and sardines could be the keys to long life. After all, they’re core elements of the Japanese diet — and the Japanese enjoy one of the longest life expectancies in the world. What are they doing right? Researchers credit the typical Japanese diet as a factor not only in their longevity, but also in their relatively lower rates of heart disease and cancer. The traditional Japanese diet, heavy on seafood, soy products, and vegetables, can benefit modern diners of all cultures.
