grape varietal: 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon

appellation: Bordeaux Superieur, France

taste: A sophisticated style of red Bordeaux – medium-bodied and smooth, with complex flavors of currant, blackberry and black cherry, balanced by rich earth and a touch of soft spice. Let this wine open up for 20 minutes to an hour for maximum enjoyment.

great with: All meat dishes, especially beef and lamb. The merlot component also allows it to pair with turkey, chicken, cheese and mushroom dishes.
