You don’t have to be a trained chef to prepare delicious meals. And it doesn’t take forever to make meals that are good for you, too.
Meal planning and having a stockpile of staples in the house — such as a variety of lean proteins, frozen vegetables and pasta or rice — go a long way toward keeping dinners easy and healthy.
Here are some tips for making great dinners in no time at all:
- Combine pre-cut fresh or frozen vegetables, lean protein such as chicken, scallops or tofu, and stir-fry with garlic and oil. Serve over pasta or rice.
- Create a delicious salad at the salad bar of your local Hannaford Supermarket. Add a small roll or whole-grain crackers to complete the meal.
- Soup it up! See what’s in the cupboard and create a variety of delicious soups and stews — look for recipes here.
- Prepare a soup or stew the night before, and put it in a slow cooker. Whoever gets home first just has to turn it on and dinner is on its way!
