Unfortunately, store space is limited, and so we are unable to honor all customer requests to add new products to the store shelves. There are many factors that influence the decision to carry a product in our stores. Product availability, sales history, and other factors are considered as our merchandisers work to continuously offer the right product mix to fulfill the needs of the communities we serve. Consumer response to new and discontinued items also influences those decisions.
If I am not satisfied with a product I purchased at a Hannaford store, can I return it? Absolutely! We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that we are offering high-quality products in our stores. Your feedback is valuable. Any time that you are not satisfied with a product purchased at a Hannaford store, bring the item back to the store for a full refund or replacement product. Our merchandising departments, Quality Assurance team, and the suppliers monitor the information we gather through the refund process to ensure that quality standards are met.
Every private label brand comes with a "double-your-money-back" quality guarantee. We also offer this same guarantee on all meat, deli, bakery, seafood and produce items. If you are not satisfied with the quality, simply return the item and its original packaging to the store nearest you.
Can you assist me with choosing products that do not contain gluten?
You can browse our products online to see the Guiding Stars rating for each item, and select nutrition preferences or screen out food allergens like gluten as you customize a shopping list to meet your needs. This should be used as a guide, since manufacturer's product formulations may change without notice to us.

What's the difference between the sell-by date and the use-by date?
A sell-by date indicates the last day a product can be sold and still provide a reasonable period of normal home storage and consumption. A use-by date is intended to show how long a product will retain optimum quality.
There are different approaches to code dating on products:
Sell-by dates can be put on products by the manufacturer or by the retailer. These are quality dates and have no correlation to safety. Products can be sold and consumed safely after the sell-by date.
Use-by dates or best-if-used-by dates usually are put on products by the manufacturer to help consumers know when products are at their peak of freshness and quality. These are quality dates and have no correlation to safety. Products can be consumed safely after the use-by date.
Expiration or use-by dates are required by law on pharmaceutical products, infant formula and baby foods. These dates are required because the effectiveness or nutritional value cannot be guaranteed by the manufacturer. These products should not be sold or used after the expiration or use-by date.

How can I determine the shelf life of an item I have purchased?
Food Marketing Institute (FMI) has a great Web site for researching food storage and safety advice: http://www.fmi.org/consumer/foodkeeper/. Simply type in the name of any product in the Search field to learn how long you should store the item in your pantry, refrigerator, or freezer. You can also find important information about safe food handling.
How long can I store my canned goods?
Preservatives are used in canned foods to maintain quality. Any preservatives in the product must be listed on the label. The canning process keeps foods safe. If a product is correctly processed, it should remain safe until opened or the seal is broken. However, storage for long periods of time is not recommended. For high quality (versus safety), the broadest guideline given by the USDA is to use high-acid canned food (fruits, tomatoes and pickled products) in 18 to 24 months and low-acid canned food (meats and vegetables) in two to five years. The system for coding can differ from one manufacturer to the next. Most companies offer a toll-free consumer information number on the label. We recommend that you call the number provided if you have questions about the code and/or the shelf life of a particular product.
What are my options if I have purchased a product that is being recalled? If you have purchased a product at a Hannaford store that is being recalled, please bring the product back to the store for a refund. If you use our online shopping lists or have your shopping list scanned at the register, we'll email you when one of your items is recalled.

Hannaford Supermarkets have Redbox video rental machines. Redbox offers the current Top 50 new DVD releases/titles. Each Redbox unit holds 500 disks and includes a touch screen where customers can pick a movie. It also includes a credit-card reader for paying the fee. The Redbox machines do not accept cash. Can I redeem my empty bottles and cans at Hannaford?
Most Hannaford Supermarkets, within states that have a bottle deposit bill, have bottle redemption services. Most of these stores allow our customers to use self-service machines and have a traditional bottle window staffed by Hannaford associates. Other Hannaford locations use the following services:
Clynk Hannaford offers a bottle redemption service in some of its Maine stores called the "Clynk Drop & Go" system. This innovative program operates inside the Hannaford location, with the exception of Scarborough, which has a separate center in the parking lot. The operation is set up and managed by Clynk – a Maine-based company that has developed the technology behind the program. GreenBack A few of our New York Hannaford Supermarkets and Tomra have teamed up to offer you convenient drop-off service to redeem your empty bottles, cans, and used beverage containers. Can I add items from the weekly flyer to my shopping list?
Yes. Just click on the item and select the variety to add to the shopping list.
What's the quickest way to find products? There are two ways:
You can find items by typing the item name or description in the search box in the header and click go. This is most effective if you know exactly what you're searching for.
You can browse for items by going to 'Browse Products'under the 'Save and Shop' section of our website. The items are arranged by department, then by category. This is the best method if you're not exactly sure what you looking for.
Why can't I find the items I'm looking for?
There are several ways to find items with myHannaford, including searching and browsing for items. If you are searching for a specific item, ensure that the name is spelled correctly. You can also try variations of names since some items may be referred to by different names such as 'soda' and 'pop'. If you are still unable to find the item it is possible your preferred store does not carry the item you are looking for.
How can I use my shopping list in store? Once created, you can obtain your shopping list in the following ways:
You can print your shopping list directly from our website.
The list can be emailed to any email address.
You can access your shopping list directly through your mobile phone/device's Internet browser. Once it is set-up the first time, you don't even need to send updates to your phone. The mobile list will be available as soon as online updates are made. You can check off items directly on your mobile device as you shop, making it easy to track what's in your cart.
How do I send my shopping list to a mobile phone?
• In your selected shopping list, click the 'send to phone' icon at the top of your list
• Recipient Phone Number – Enter the specified phone number the list will be sent to
• Recipient Phone Carrier – Choose your phone carrier from the drop down list provided
• Personal message – Add a personal message
• Click 'send list to phone'
How do I access my shopping list from a mobile phone for the first time?
You must first send your shopping list to you mobile device, as described above.
• Under myHannaford, click on 'Manage Mobile Preferences' in the left navigation.
• Find your 'Mobile Sign–In ID' 14–digit code at the bottom of the page
• Click the button 'email me this information'
• You get an email on your mobile device with a link that prompts you to enter your 14–digit code once. After that, you'll see all your shopping list on your phone.
Any time after this initial setup, simply open up a web browser in your phone and go to http://www.hannaford.com/mobile. You'll then have full access to all your shopping lists! The 14–digit code can then always be found in the myHannaford section under mobile preferences.
My cell phone web browser cannot find the myHannaford mobile site. What do I do?
If you have problem accessing the myHannaford mobile site in your cell phone, first check that you are using the correct URL. Next, make sure your cell phone is configured to use an internet or HTML browser. There are numerous ways to configure the browser, but it is usually done via an Options or Settings menu.
How do I configure my Blackberry?
• Open up your browser and select Options from the menu. On the Browser Options screen, select General Properties.
• In the General Properties screen select the Default Browser item.
• Set Default Browser to Internet Browser.
How do I turn a receipt into a shopping list?
• Using the myHannaford link in the header, go to the myHannaford account page
• Click the section on the left called 'my most recent orders.'

What are Recent Orders?

How long does it take to turn a receipt into a shopping list?
Information from shopping lists will usually take over night to process.
How many saved shopping lists can I have?
You can save up to 10 shopping lists. You may want to use different shopping lists for normal shopping, holidays, special occasions, or special health needs.
How do I compare items?
Click on the "Compare" checkbox to the right of each item you'd like to compare. After you have checked-off up to three items, click on compare items and they will appear in the "Compare Products" box.
Nutrition Profile and Food Allergies
Where do nutrition facts come from?
For packaged products, nutrition facts and ingredients are collected from product labels and suppliers. For fresh items, all information – including allergen information – was collected from the USDA database of nutrition facts. We rely exclusively on that information. We do not independently review it, and do not provide any guarantees on its accuracy or completeness.
How can the shopping list help me with food allergies?
Once you set up your nutrition profile under your myHannaford account, the products viewed will display alerts for the select allergens and other notable product characteristics, such as high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils using the nutrition facts we collect. But, it does not screen for potential contaminants or other factors of possible interest. Because it is only based on limited supplier or USDA information, it cannot be used to guarantee that a product or item is free of an allergen or other notable product characteristic.
How can I find out for sure if a product contains specific allergens, contaminants, or other notable product characteristics?
If you have a severe food allergy or other concern, please contact the manufacturer and consult your healthcare provider for medical advice. You may also contact our Customer Information Center at 1-800-213-9040, and our representatives will be happy to assist you in researching allergy and other questions about products we carry.
How does my nutrition profile fit in with my healthcare providers and resources?
Your nutrition profile is only intended as an aid for your shopping experience. Why does Hannaford use Guiding Stars?
Hannaford uses Guiding Stars to allow shoppers to easily choose more nutritious foods. Reading, understanding, and comparing all those food labels can be a complicated task. Guiding Stars helps to make that task easier by using a three star rating system derived from extensive research. myHannaford uses Guiding Stars so you can find Guiding Star rated items online before you do your shopping in store. What are the different Guiding Stars ratings?
• One star means that item has good nutritional value
• Two stars means that item has better nutritional value
• Three stars means that item has the best nutritional value
• 'No Stars' means that the item has been rated by Guiding Stars as not qualifying for a star rating.
• If the area is blank, then that item has not been rated by Guiding Stars
How do I set up an account to take advantage of the site features?
Click on the 'Log In' in the header and you'll see the information on the left that we need to register you.
• Passwords are case sensitive, so capitalized letters matter.
• Be sure to check for typos in your email ID or password before submitting.
• Check for characters in your password that may look similar to other characters, for example, the letter 'O' may look like a '0' (zero).
• If you have forgotten your password, use the 'forgot password' feature.
• If you have registered but have not received a confirmation email, you may have entered your email address incorrectly when you registered. You can enter your email ID into the 'forgot password' feature to verify if your email is in our system or not. If it is, a security question will be asked and if it is not, an error message will appear.
• If you have recently used the 'forgot password' feature, ensure that you are using the most recent password sent to you.
• If you're registered and cannot reset your password through the 'forgot password' feature, please contact us.
I cannot register a new account, how can I join?
To register successfully, please follow these tips:
• Use a valid email address that is spelled correctly
• Type in your email address to verify it, rather than paste it from above or elsewhere
• Select a security question and answer you can easily remember.
If you see an error message stating that the email address you entered is already in use, you may have already registered. If so, you can check your email for a previous registration confirmation. If not, you can use the 'forgot password' feature to try and reset your password, which should send a new password to your email account.
If you do not receive an email confirmation from Hannaford after registration, please allow several minutes for email networks to send the message to your account. If you still do not receive a message after some time, or check to see if the message went into a 'spam' folder within your email program. If you still can't find an email from Hannaford after registration, try using the 'forgot password' feature on myHannaford to reset your password. This will send another email to you with a new password.
If you still can't register, you can try to make a new account with a different email address.
I forgot my password, how do I recover it?
You can reset your password by using the 'forgot password' feature on Hannaford.com. This will send you a new email containing password reset link. For security purposes, you must click this link within 12 hours or it will not be valid. If this happens, simply go through the reset password process again to receive a new email. When you click this link you will be taken back to Hannaford.com where you create a new password. Please remember your security question and answer since it is required to reset your password.
I need more help with myHannaford, how do I get it?

If someone adds an item to my shopping list from a desktop, laptop, or mobile phone, will I see it? Yes, the item is added automatically. Just press the "GO" button located next to your shopping list name for it to refresh with the new items.
How do I use coupons from my phone or tablet? While using the mobile site, you have access to all the same coupons that are on the full site. You can save them to your shopping list and print them later from a computer.
How do I order gift cards on the mobile site? You can order new cards and give them as gifts from the mobile site by following the instructions on the gift card page. If you want to check your gift card balance or reload your card, you must go to the full site. Select "Full Site" located in the footer of every page on the mobile site.
Can I order special products like deli platters, custom cakes, shrimp rings and specialty cut meats? Yes. You can look for them in each of the department categories, or you can find them all listed in one place by choosing "Products," then "In-Store Pickup." Just follow the online instructions for placing your order at least 48 hours ahead, and you can pick up your items on the day of your event.
How do I log out of the mobile site? Choose "More" at the footer of any page; then select "Sign Out."
