Media Advisory: Cargill Ground Beef Recall

Scarborough, ME – On Sunday night, Cargill Beef voluntarily recalled 29,339 pounds of ground beef produced at the company's Wyalusing, Penn., facility on May 25. Cargill and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service believe these products may contain Salmonella Enteritidis.
As a result of Cargill's recall, Hannaford is alerting consumers in all markets to check their freezers for ground beef with "use or sell by" dates between May 29 and June 16, 2012. These products are in scope of the Cargill recall.
Hannaford will provide a full refund for any returned ground beef with sell by dates of May 29 through June 16, 2012.
No other products are affected by this recall.
Hannaford Supermarkets, based in Scarborough, Maine, operates 181 stores and employs more than 26,000 associates in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont.
