Ingredients: Add ingredients to List

1 teaspoon cooking oil spray
1 whole onion, sliced
4 cups cooked kidney bean or other beans
1 cup kidney bean juice
1/4 cup vinegar
3/4 cup molasses
1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1 - 6 oz can tomato paste
2 tablespoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
2 oz canadian bacon,cooked (optional)
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325degrees. Spray a 9-inch square, deep baking pan or bean pot with cooking oil. Arrange sliced onion on bottom of pan. Add beans. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into beans. Cook covered for 2-1/2 hours. Remove lid and cook uncovered for 30 minutes or until browned on top.
