1. Place 4 bread slices on work surface. Spread fruit spread on each slice. Top each with one slice ham and several slices of cheese. Top with remaining bread slices.
2. Melt 1/2 your butter in heavy large skillet over medium heat. Add sandwiches to pan. Cook, pressing occasionally with large spatula. Turn sandwiches with spatula, add remaining butter to pan, continue grilling until bread is golden and cheese has melted lightly.
