Servings: Serves 6

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 17 minutes

Ingredients: Add ingredients to List

4 teaspoons Inspirations Crushed Black Pepper Dipping oil, divided
2 tablespoons Nature's Place Gluten Free bread crumbs
1/3 cup shallots, thinly sliced
8 ozs mushrooms, stemmed and thinly sliced
1/4 teaspoon Inspirations Fleur de Sel sea salt, or to taste
3/4 lb green beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
1/4 cup Marsala wine

directions:

1. Heat 2 teaspoons of the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add bread crumbs. Cook and stir until toasted and fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Watch carefully, as the crumbs can burn quickly. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
2. Add remaining 2 teaspoons dipping oil to the same pan and heat over medium-high heat. Add shallots, mushrooms, and salt. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes, until the mushrooms start to give off some of their liquid. Stir in green beans; continue to cook and stir until green beans are crisptender, about 8 minutes.
3. Add marsala. Stir well and continue to cook until most of the liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes. Transfer bean mixture to a serving bowl. Garnish with reserved bread crumbs and serve immediately.

Green Bean and Mushroom Marsala is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Healthy Veggie for Family Holiday Meal I first tried this recipe because of the Gluten Free recommendations one Thanksgiving for one of my sons. Now it's a family favorite. The GF refers to the breadcrumb topping but I don't always add breadcrumbs, GF or not, because I end up making an extra large version for the whole family. Great either way. Sauteing green beans is a great way to serve a delicious, nutritious one-pan veggie without overcooking it. The pepper/olive oil and Marsala blend well with the mushrooms, beans and shallots and enhance the taste. Now my kids are asking for the recipe! Simple, easy, and it saves time and space in the oven during holiday meals. Great anytime or when you want to show off for specials meals.
