Green Beans with Sunflower Seeds

Ingredients

This easy recipe makes a fantastic summertime side dish. Use whatever seeds is most convenient--pepitas would also work well.Tip: If you're not a fan of raw onion, make this a skillet dish and start by frying the onions until soft.
1 lb. green beans, trimmed
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes to taste
2 Tbsp. sunflower seeds
1 tsp. chopped fresh oregano

Directions

1. Place the beans in a saucepan. Cover with water and bring to a boil; reduce the heat to a simmer, and cook until tender (7-8 minutes).
2. Drain beans. Toss remaining ingredients to serve.
