Balsamic-Berry Sauce

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. (about 4 1/2 cups) blueberries, raspberries, and/or halved strawberries
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
2 tsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. water

Directions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine berries, sugar, and vinegar. Crush berries with the back of a wooden spoon, then bring mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until berries have released most of their juices, about 10 minutes.
2. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water and whisk to blend. Stir into berry mixture and cook until thickened, 3 to 5 more minutes. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
