Ingredients

An easy three-ingredient dry rub makes these oven-roasted ribs a sure summer favorite. Finish them off on the grill with a sweet-and-sour glaze made from fresh cherries and classic cola.
1 Tbsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. kosher salt
2 tsp. ground black pepper
4 1/2 lbs. pork spareribs
1 cup barbecue sauce
1 cup cola
1/2 cup fresh cherries, pitted
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. hot sauce (optional)
Cherry Cola Spareribs

Directions

In a small bowl, combine garlic powder with salt and pepper. Sprinkle mixture over ribs and rub into meat. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place ribs on a large foil-lined baking sheet. Bake 1 1/2 hours, until tender.
Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine barbecue sauce, cola, cherries, vinegar, and hot sauce, if using. Heat to a boil, then reduce to medium-low. Simmer 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Heat grill on medium. When ribs are finished baking, brush with cherry cola glaze and place on grill. Cook 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until ribs almost fall off the bone. Brush ribs with more glaze, if desired.
