Expanded Waldoboro Hannaford to host Grand Reopening
Waldoboro, Maine – The Waldoboro Hannaford Supermarket will host a Grand Reopening on Saturday, Dec. 3 to celebrate the completion of an expansion project that made room for 2,000 additional products, including 750 new organic and natural items.
The store grew from 11,700 square feet to 18,700 square feet during the expansion, allowing the supermarket to double its previous offering in areas such as produce, dairy and frozen foods. The store added a full-service deli; increased its bakery, meat and seafood offerings; and added bottle redemption through Clynk.
The Grand Reopening celebration will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, with the first 300 customers receiving coupons for 10 percent off their purchase. The celebration also will include food sampling, give-aways and a raffle.
"We encourage the whole community to join us in celebrating the completion of a nine-month store-expansion project and to see for themselves all the new offerings available at their Waldoboro Hannaford," said Store Manager Rick Purinton. "The supermarket has much more room for customers to navigate aisles and a fresh new look that people really like."
In conjunction with the Grand Reopening, the supermarket will donate $1,000 to the Waldoboro Food Pantry and $1,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine. Presentation of those checks will take place at 1 p.m.
The Waldoboro Hannaford is located at the intersections of Route 1 and Route 32 in Waldoboro.
