Hannaford opens Durham store

Durham, N.H. – Hannaford Supermarkets has opened its new Durham store after purchasing the former Durham Marketplace at 7 Mill Road.

The store is Hannaford's 35th in New Hampshire.  Durham Marketplace was previously a wholesale customer of the Maine-based grocer and carried many Hannaford-brand products that will continue to be sold at the store.

Hannaford has increased the overall number of products sold at the supermarket – particularly organic and natural foods.  The Maine-based grocer emphasizes affordable prices and providing fresh, nutritious food that help customers make healthy choices.

"When customers visit the Durham store, they see familiar faces and can be assured that Hannaford plans to be a close partner in making the local community even stronger, through our work with schools, area nonprofits and town leaders," said Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman.

Hannaford highlights many of the local products it carries through the grocer's Close to Home program.  The company encourages farmers and other food producers to visit their local Hannaford for more information.
