Utica woman named top store manager by grocer
UTICA, New York – Hannaford Supermarkets has named the manager of its store on Mowhawk Street as the 2013 Ronald C. Hodge Retailer of the Year, recognizing her as the top store manager last year at the 184-store company.
Cheryl Rondenelli received the recognition during a ceremony at the company’s Maine headquarters on March 5. The award is presented annually to the Hannaford store manager who best demonstrates teamwork, leadership, customer service, community involvement, financial results, and company values.
“Cheryl is a great example of what makes Hannaford store managers so special,” said Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman. “Her commitment to customers and to the associates she leads makes us all proud. She is constantly working to meet their needs.”
The Ronald C. Hodge Retailer of the Year, previously titled the Store Manager of the Year, was renamed to honor former Hannaford President Ron Hodge.
With more than 30 years of experience in the grocery industry, Rondenelli began her career with Hannaford in Clinton, N.Y., before transitioning to Utica. She has been with Hannaford for nine years and is a five-time winner as a district store manager
