Store manager recognized as best among his peers

Herkimer, N.Y. – Michael Rondenelli, who manages the Herkimer Hannaford Supermarket & Pharmacy, has been named the company's top store manager across its five-state market region for 2015.

 

Hannaford recently recognized Rondenelli as the Ronald C. Hodge Retailer of the Year, from among the company's 188 store managers in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.  The award is presented annually in recognition of superior leadership, customer service, support for associates, communication and store performance.

 

The award is named for Ronald C. Hodge, a retired Hannaford president and chief executive officer who excelled as a store manager earlier in his career.

 

"Mike's leadership in 2015 was tireless, caring, inspiring, and genuine," said Director of Operations Andy Willette.  "His passion for people is always there, and it shows in his store."

 

In nominating Rondenelli, Willette cited the store manager's commitment and effectiveness in working to strengthen the community through charitable activities and by connecting with local causes.

 

"He is always willing to stop and connect with any individual or organization," Willette said.  "He regularly leaves a positive impact with customers because of his communication and follow-through.  As a result, he has built quite a reputation in the community.
