Gingerbread Syrup
This recipe requires 2 hours of steeping time.
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 (1") knob fresh ginger, coarsely grated
1 cinnamon stick
6 whole cloves
1/2 tsp. whole black peppercorns
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Gingerbread Syrup
  • Servings:Makes About 2 cups
  • Prep Time:5 minutes
  • Cook Time:10 minutes
1. In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients except vanilla. Bring to a rolling boil over medium-high, then remove from heat and let steep 2 hours.
2. Stir in vanilla, then strain syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into an airtight container, discarding solids. Store syrup in the fridge for up to 1 month.
